Zachary Jacob Francis, affectionately known as: Zach, Zachy, Harv, passed away on April 11, 2024, in his hometown of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, at the young age of 24. Born on October 4, 1999, in West Allis, Wisconsin. He is the cherished son of Balford and Patricia Francis, loving brother of Abigail Morgan Francis, and loving uncle to Gianna Lynn Davis.
Zachary began his educational journey at Highland Montessori School in Milwaukee, WI. Zachary graduated from Mequon’s Homestead High School. He began his college journey at UW-Madison as a very proud BADGER. Amidst the Covid-19 pandemic he returned home where he completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee with a Bachelor’s Degree in Economics. His passion for world affairs, economy, history, sports, politics, analytics and enthusiasm for constant education and reading were evident in all aspects of his life.
Known for his kind heart, quick wit, and infectious smile, Zachary left a lasting impact on everyone he met. He was employed by Options Laboratories as an Account Manager and believed deeply in making a difference in his community service.
As a beloved alumni of the Homestead High School football team, Zachary played as an outside linebacker, where his team spirit and determination were admired by all. His intelligence and curiosity made him a standout student, who was a proud member of the National Honor Society and participated in the Highlander Leadership Team.
Zachary was predeceased by his maternal grandfather, Phillip R Zurbuchen Jr, and his paternal grandfather, Leeferd Francis. He leaves behind a loving family: his parents, Balford and Patricia Francis; his sister, Abigail; his niece “baby girl” Gianna, his maternal grandmother, April Williams; his paternal grandparents, Boise and Monalyn Walker; and numerous great aunts, aunts, great uncles, uncles, cousins, and friends who will miss him dearly.
A service to celebrate Zachary’s life will be on Saturday, April 20, 2024. Visitation will be from 1:00 PM – 2:45 PM at Krause Funeral Home, 21600 West Capitol Drive, Brookfield, Wisconsin, with Service at 3:00 PM. Following the 3:00 PM service, we will have a lively reception at the Funeral Home from 4:30 PM – 7:30 PM.
Burial at Fairview Cemetery in Bangor, WI on Sunday, April 21 at 1:00 PM. Following the burial, guests are invited to The Family Farm in Bangor for a luncheon.
