Youa Xiong Reinicker
Youa was surrounded by family when she passed on to her eternal heavenly home on March 15th, 2024 at the age of 39. Loving wife of Michael for nearly 10 years in May, and beloved mother of Evangeline. Precious daughter of Wang Ker and May (Vang) Xiong. Dear sister to Ae and husband Yia, Sheng and wife Judy, Xou, Journer and wife Sue, Ba and husband Drew, Jackson, Koua, Kong and wife Zouapa, Pa and fiancé David, Chee, Johnny, and the late Tou. Cherished daughter-in-law of Don and Barb Reinicker. Treasured sister-in-law of Brian and wife Emily, Liz and husband Matt (Pomeroy). Also dearly loved by many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and many more friends and relatives.
Youa was a caring Registered Nurse who found a calling working for pediatric ventilator patients. From her drive to help others, she started a homecare agency, Peace of Mind Home Health, LLC. Due to her hard work and determination, the company was successful and her husband Mike was soon able to join her full time.
After their daughter Evie was born, Youa wanted to spend more time with her. Youa and Mike made the hard decision to sell the company. Youa, Mike and Evie were then able to spend three months traveling the US and Canada and were the happiest they had ever been. Youa returned to UnitedHealthcare where she had previously worked while in nursing school. She rejoined her old team as a Nurse Case Manager, allowing her to work from home and enjoy more quality time with Evie.
Youa was full of life and a positive light in the world up until she passed. She attended TEE classes with the Hmong Christian Missionary Alliance Church which allowed her to grow in her faith. When the classes were completed, she prayed to God to guide her in her ministry. After she was diagnosed with Cancer, she found her ministry by sharing her faith testimony with people she met along her journey to bring them closer to Christ. Her strong faith and determination brought many closer to Christ.
Youa also brought awareness and helped others with their health. She encouraged those around her to be their own advocates with their health. By asking for what tests you want can help you get an early diagnosis instead of continuing to get medications to hide the symptoms of a greater issue. Through her testament others were able to take their own healthcare needs into account and were able to discover their cancer diagnosis early.
