Our beloved Yash N. Patel, son of Nileshkumar and Bhartiben Patel, brother to Priyanka and Dia, and grandson of Narendrabhai and Revaben Patel was everything we could’ve asked for.

Yash was 19 when he passed, about to start his second year at UW-Madison studying Finance. He worked very hard and sacrificed many things to achieve his goals, and at the age of 19 he already had many internships under his belt, he had professional aspirations, and he had the drive to achieve them.

He was mature beyond his years, but at his core, he was a little kid. He loved to play tennis and pickleball, or any sport or game in general. He’d hang out with his friends, he’d work out, he’d watch TV and take a million naps. He loved eating food, most of all food his mom and younger sister made for him. He loved his family even more, and he made it known. He loved teasing his sisters and playing with his parents. He loved sending people stupid videos of stupid people and then laughing about it. He loved being seen by everyone. No matter where he went, he brought a smile to someone’s face.

It was impossible not to like Yash. Even in his most dislikable of his traits, his sheer tenacity and self assurance forced you to respect the man. He’d strike up a conversation with anyone and charm them with his charisma. Or he’d start an argument. Either or. In death, we hope he finds peace as abundantly as he found joy in life. He was the baby of the family, dear to all. He was never afraid to be the biggest personality in the room, and he never relinquished being himself in all that he did. He would say “it’s not that serious” and move on from life’s troubles. And seeing someone so wise in their happiness and joyful in their living is what drew us all to him. The problem with being loved is that when you leave, you tear apart worlds. And Yash…well, he is very loved.

Visitation and prayers will take place at Krause Funeral Home, 21600 West Capitol Drive, Brookfield, Wisconsin on Friday, August 21, 2026 from 1:00 PM – 3:00 PM. Cremation service at 3:00 PM.

Yash was one of my students in a course for first-year students at UW-Madison. I remember Yash being friendly, motivated, and determined to do well in his career and for his family. He’d frequently stay back after class, and we’d talk about how he wanted to set himself up well during his time at UW-Madison and beyond. I always left our conversations believing he was destined for great things. I am devastated to hear of his passing and express my deepest condolences to his family.

I had the pleasure of sharing the tennis court with Yash for multiple years. His on-court attitude speaks to the kind of person he was; compassionate, positive, and always willing to engage in meaningful conversation. He approached life with an eagerness to learn and understand others. He will always be cherished in my heart as someone who took the extra effort to check in on others. Yash had an unwavering ability to elevate others around him in a humble and well-meaning way. His simple, yet deliberate way of reaching out to others is how I will always remember him. I give my condolences to the family during this troubling time.

Yash was a major role model to me during the tennis season my Freshman year. I looked up to him like an older brother, and he inspired me to continue playing tennis as much as I could. I couldn’t have asked for a better mentor.

Our Condolences to the family. Our hearts are broken and deeply mourn the loss of Yash and yet poised to celebrate his life - he was like family to us. A life well lived, wise beyond his age and now cut short with deep pain. We pray that Yash is welcomed and find peace with his maker. Love always, Yarteys.

I only met Yash for one day at six flags, but it was enough to see what a kind and bright soul he was. It saddens me deeply to know he is no longer with us. My sincerest condolences to Nileshkumar, Bhartiben, Priyanka, Dia and family.
