William T. Simmons was born to Julius Simmons and Lena Bell on July 14, 1942, in Blytheville, Arkansas. He grew up in Paducah, Kentucky, then moved to Minneapolis, Minnesota and later to Muskego, Wisconsin.
Bill served in the Air Force during Vietnam and earned a Purple Heart. He worked as an insurance adjuster for more than thirty years and as a storm specialist, helped many people across the Midwest during times of catastrophe and loss.
He also enjoyed helping people within the community and served two terms as a city alderman in Muskego.
An avid outdoorsman, Bill enjoyed fishing, hunting and as a charter member of the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation, was instrumental in bringing elk back into the northern part of the state.
He is survived by 3 children: Lynn Huggar (Boris), Lora Johnson, Larry Simmons (Karie); grandchildren Denise, Cory, Desiree’, Kyle, Jessica, and Rebecca; and 13 great-grandchildren. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend. Bill will be missed by many and was loved by all.
Visitation to be held on Tuesday, September 9, 2025 at Krause Funeral Home, 21600 West Capitol Drive, Brookfield, Wisconsin, from 3:00 PM until the time of Service at 3:30 PM. Interment at 1:00 PM on Thursday, September 11, 2025 at Fort Snelling National Cemetery, 7601 34th Avenue South, Minneapolis, Minnesota.
