William “Bill” L. Harvey

It is with profound sadness but with hearts full of cherished memories that we announce the passing of William L. Harvey, a beloved husband, father, brother, uncle, and friend.  William, known affectionately as Bill, passed away unexpectedly at his home on May 13, 2026, at the age of seventy-two.  Born on November 16, 1953, in Neenah, Wisconsin, Bill was a beacon of kindness and intelligence to all who had the joy of knowing him.

Bill was the treasured son of Leslie and Dorothy Harvey, who predeceased him, along with his dear niece, Lucy.  He is survived by his devoted wife of 43 years, Jeanne, with whom he shared a beautiful life.  Together they raised their beloved daughter, Kathryn, who was the light of Bill’s life.  His memory will also be carried on by his sisters, Mary Jo Glugla (Mike), Margi Styczynski (Tom), and Nancy Herrmann (Tom); his sisters-in laws Kathy (Mark) and Mary Beth; brother-in law Bill (Colleen); along with numerous nieces, nephews, and a circle of friends who held him dear.

Bill’s journey through life was marked by his service to others and his commitment to his faith.  After graduating from St. Mary’s High School in Menasha, he pursued his education at Cardinal Stritch University, earning a B.A. degree.  He proudly served his country in the United States Air Force from 1972 to 1976, with part of his service time spent in Korea, a testament to his patriotism and sense of duty.

For over 30 years, Bill was an active member of St. Matthias Parish, where he served faithfully as an usher and contributed his time to keeping the church a welcoming place for all.  His faith was evident in his daily life, where he exemplified holiness and kindness.

A man of many interests, Bill found joy in a wide range of activities including playing the guitar, playing the accordion, scuba diving, motorcycling, operating a ham radio, and gardening.  His love for the great outdoors was often shared through camping adventures.  Perhaps one of his most cherished routines was going out for breakfast with his daughter, Kathryn, a tradition that brought them both immense joy and treasured memories.

Bill was known for his intelligence and a broad knowledge that he shared generously, always willing to lend a helping hand or a listening ear.  His warmth and compassion left an indelible mark on everyone he encountered.

The family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the New Berlin Police and Fire Departments, as well as the caring neighbors who offered their support during this difficult time.

While we mourn the loss of Bill, we also celebrate the life he led and the legacy of love and kindness he leaves behind.  May his soul rest in eternal peace and may his memory be a blessing to all whose lives he touched.

Visitations to honor Bill’s life will be held on Thursday, May 28, 2026, from 4:00 PM – 7:00 PM and on Friday, May 29, 2026, from 10:00 AM – 11:00 AM, followed by a Funeral Liturgy and reception. The services and reception will take place at Krause Funeral Home, 12401 West National Avenue, New Berlin, Wisconsin.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to St. Matthias Catholic Church or the Gary Sienese Foundation, both charities close to Bill’s heart.
