March 1954. It was probably a gray day as many March days are in Wisconsin. But this day was different. The light broke through, gifting the world one delightfully bright and brilliant person, Bill. A turn of a phrase, a play on words, a story to be told characterized his humor and his effervescence.
He marked his life’s challenges with a focus hard to match, breaking gray days with strength, warmth and abundant love.
Only Bill could come up behind his mother, hug her off the floor and make everyone feel that embrace.
A deep scar from the death of his little sister Terri made him acutely aware of life’s gifts and love’s endurance. His devotion to his son Peter and his love of his sisters and their families is evidence.
Bill cared deeply for his friends who will miss him as much.
There will always be a void left in all our hearts.
