On March 24, 2023, we lost a great husband, father, brother, and friend. WangCha Lo Kiatoukaysy went to live with the Lord after years of battling health issues. The fourth son of Wangly and Mee Ly, WangCha was born on March 23, 1946 (1952). He married Seng Vang on January 8, 1970, and they shared 53 happy years. They have 3 sons, 5 daughters, 3 daughters-in-law, 4 sons-in-law, 27 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.
Wangcha was passionate about a lot of things but the two things we remember most are: education and his Arkansas farm, also known as the Kiatoukaysy Farm. Many know him as a teacher in Laos, but WangCha was also a forward thinker and a lifelong learner. He understood that knowledge is the key to success and encouraged all to pursue a higher learning regardless of age, gender, religion, or nationality. He understood the importance of changing for the better; he wanted us to effect change, even if it meant going against the status quo. And he taught us to set the example. After retirement, he spent many months out of the year in Arkansas, relaxing on his land and enjoying his pet cows. The Kiatoukaysy farm was a dream come true for WangCha; he was living the American dream.
Although our hearts are torn, we know that he is now in a place where he is healthy and whole. We may have lost our protector and shield, but he lives on through us. One of the most important lessons he taught us, is that we love one another. So from now on, we will be each other’s protectors. We will be each other’s shield. That is the legacy that our father left us, and we will pass it down to our kids and grandkids.
Thank you for all of life’s lessons, Dad. You were a loving father and a loyal friend to many. We love you and will always miss you!
Funeral Services will be held at Krause Funeral Home, 21600 West Capitol Drive, Brookfield, from March 28, 2023 – April 1, 2023.
