On May 17, 2023, Thomas P. Krystowiak said his final goodbyes to family and loved ones, as he transitioned from this earth to begin his new life with God. He was 71 years of age. A devoted husband to Marianne (Mich) Krystowiak, a proud father to Matthew and Andrew Krystowiak, and a cherished grandfather to Jadon, Keegan, Alana, and Russell Krystowiak, Tom left his mark on the world through his unwavering love and commitment to his family.
The younger of two sons to George and Florence (Mittag) Krystowiak, Tom spent his childhood and adolescence in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. He formed a number of lasting relationships during his grade school years at St. Thomas, and later met his future wife and soulmate, Marianne, among his high school hallways at St. John’s Cathedral. After graduation, Tom attended college at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, and went on to pursue a graduate degree from the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh. While pursuing his Master of Science in Accounting, Tom accepted a position at Berlin Memorial Hospital (now ThedaCare) and relocated with his wife Marianne to Green Lake, Wisconsin. Tom served as an administrator for the hospital for nearly 40 years, ultimately achieving and holding the position of Chief Financial Officer until his retirement in 2017.
It was during his time in Green Lake that Tom and his family found a lasting sense of community and belonging. As his sons grew older, Tom became involved in local youth athletics and coached little league baseball and club basketball. His passion for sports grew into a bond he shared with his two sons and made him a regular attendee at Green Lake High School sporting events. Tom’s love of baseball, in particular, continued to expand into his retirement, which led to season tickets for the Milwaukee Brewers, and years of stadium visits across the country with his family.
Above everything else, Tom displayed an unrelenting devotion to his wife of 50 years, Marianne, and his two sons, Matt and Andy. A modest and humble man at heart, Tom would be the first to tell you that he was most proud of the life he built with his loving family. Tom will be remembered by his family, friends, and colleagues as a gentle soul, and a man of great character and integrity.
Visitation and services in honor of Tom will be held at Krause Funeral Home, 21600 West Capitol Drive, Brookfield, Wisconsin on Friday, June 2, 2023. Visitation will take place from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM, with service immediately following at 5:00 PM.
The family requests those who wish to express sympathy to consider making a donation to the American Liver Foundation in honor of Tom.
