Ted Brahm passed in peace Monday, June 22, 2020, at the age of 87. Preceded in death 8 months prior by his beloved wife, Phyllis.
Ted was born October 17, 1932, in Milwaukee during the Great Depression to the late Clara Anna Trost and Herbert Frank Maximillian Brahm. At the age of 9, while in quarantine for diptheria, his mother and grandmother passed. He spent his remaining childhood years in an orphanage. Ted’s brothers and sisters (6 total) remained close. Ted was preceded in death by his brothers Herbert, John, and Richard, and sisters Barbara and Dorothy. He is survived by his sister Kathy.
Ted met his beloved wife, Phyllis, at the Eagles Club in Milwaukee. He asked her out when he saw her at church the next day. They married in 1957. They enjoyed many activities together, which included dancing, listening to country music, going to festivals, and traveling.
Ted and Phyllis had a house built in Brookfield where they raised their 5 children. Holidays and camping trips with the family were very memorable.
Ted had a boat and really enjoyed fishing. He was a hard-working man and was good at fixing things, including cars, and doing yard work. He worked at Eaton / formerly Cutler Hammer for many years as an electrical tester and even worked on nuclear submarines.
Ted retired at 62 and enjoyed many years after retirement traveling and sightseeing with his wife, Phyllis.
Ted, beloved father, grandfather, and great-grandfather is survived by his daughter Diane, and four sons, David, Robert (Korin), Don (Kelly), Joe (Patti); his grandchildren Justin, Jacob (Monica), Angie (Mike), Bryna, Bryan, Brooke, Ryan, Kyle, Eric, Noah, Macie, and AJ; and all his great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, June 30, 2020, from 10:00 AM – 10:45 AM at Krause Funeral Home, 12401 West National Avenue, New Berlin, Wisconsin. Funeral service will follow at 11:00 AM.
