Roundy, Terry L
Died peacefully, Sunday, December 3, 2023. Age 85. Beloved husband of Marian (nee Housh). Dear father of Suzanne (Daniel) Roundy-Schmidt, and the late Kenneth Roundy and Elizabeth Beck. Terry was preceded in death by his mother Myrtle Mae (Leo “Bud”) Mallon and Roy (Byrdell) Roundy. He was a cherished grandfather to Erica Beck, Alex (Darleen) Beck, Danielle Roundy and Zoey Schmidt. Great-Grandfather to Tyler, Aubrey and Charley. Brother of William Mallon, David (Connie) Roundy, and the late Roger (Laura) Roundy.
Terry was born in Prairie du Sac, Wisconsin on July 25, 1938. He graduated from West Allis Central High School and joined the Marines. He married his high school sweetheart, Marian, on July 12, 1957. Following his time in the Marines, Terry was a Wauwatosa police officer for 22 years before he retired to join the Air National Guard full time. He served with the 128th Air Refueling Group security in Milwaukee, Wisconsin and later transferred to Volk Field, in Camp Douglas, Wisconsin, as the NCOIC of Security until his retirement in 1998. Terry and Marian first became “snow birds” wintering in Texas and eventually moved to Zapata, Texas where they made many cherished friends. They moved back to Wisconsin in 2021 to be closer to family.
Between Wisconsin and Texas, Terry enjoyed many hobbies and was by all accounts a Master Tinkerer. He loved to re-purpose anything and everything that had outlived its original intent, whether it be in wood or metal. He found ways to bring his imagination into everyday uses. He enjoyed woodcarving, furniture making, welding, automobiles (specifically a wonderfully fast and charismatic Dune Buggy that he built and maintained for many years), leatherwork, vintage and military firearms and backyard engineering hacks/tricks. Terry leaves behind many treasured pieces that will be enjoyed by his family for years to come.
Visitation will be Krause Funeral Home in Pewaukee on Saturday, December 30th from 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM, with a remembrance service starting at 1:00 PM. The service will also be live streamed for those unable to travel. Private family burial to take place at a later date.

I served with Terry in the 128 Security Police Flight. We had so much in common. We are both Marines, Police Officers and members of the 128th. Terry was a great Airman that I had the pleasure to serve with. His sense of humor was dry but kept us laughing for hours. While at Volk field we would always have a picnic at his campground. We were responsible for the corn roast of which some farmer would "donate" two dozen ears of corn. Such fun! My prayers go out to the Roundy family during this difficult time. May our Lord Jesus Christ wrap His loving arms around the Roundy family and provide comfort to them. St. Michael the Archangel, patron Saint of Police Officers, has just received another fine Officer to fill His ranks.

Terry was my neighbor in West Allis who lived across the street. His Daughter Susie and I have kids and grandkids the same age. I have known him throughout the years as they have grown up. Terry was a supervisor at the 128th Security Force Squadron when I was a young airman in the same unit. My thoughts and prayers are with your family.

Marian and family, Just lucked out and noticed this on Facebook. Sorry to hear of Terry's passing. We have said for months that we wanted to come and visit, but we have both been hit with health issues since summer of 2023 and most of our trips have been to the doctor and hospital for treatment. Gordon turned 83 in November and I turned 81 on December 4th this year. We are glad to not have a lot of snow yet and hope we both feel better soon. Hope you and family are now doing OK. Hope to talk soon, but we don't have an address or phone number. Prayers and blessings are being sent your way.

Terry was a very good man and a good man to be around and to work with. I knew him at the 128th. and I was aware of his service with the Wauwatosa PD. He had interesting stories to relate about those days.
And he was a U.S. Marine and it showed.
