Susan (Barrett) Rech, age 72 of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, passed away peacefully on April 27, 2026 surrounded by loving family.
Born on March 14, 1954, in Milwaukee to Robert and Loraine Barrett, she was known as a gifted musician. Sue’s heart often spoke through the piano, though her musical spirit embraced many instruments including the organ, harp, flute, Viber harp, and many others. She found joy in crocheting, the grace of horses – watching the Kentucky Derby, NASCAR, hockey and watching every Packers game to the very end. Sue loved her family deeply and above all, her life was guided by a deep and unwavering faith in God.
She attended Anderson University and pursued a career in secretary work at Manpower, Illingworth Inc. and Northside Coal & Oil.
Susan married her husband, Michael Rech on June 29, 1974 and together they built a life full of love and laughter.
She is survived by her husband Michael Rech, children, Tim (Nikki) Rech, Brian Rech, Robin (Connie) Rech; her grandchildren Aaron, Junia, Anna, and Elijah; her sibling David (Dorene) Barrett – nephews Dan, Doug, and Dustin; brother-in-law Jim Drace – nephews Dave and Mark Drace; niece Dawn Drace, and other family members.
She is proceeded in death by her parents Robert and Loraine (Szibel) Barrett, and her in-laws Joseph and Florina (nee Lisi) Rech, and sister-in-law Catherine (Rech) Drace and nephew Kevin Drace.
Celebration of life will be held at Southbrook Church, 11010 West Saint Martin’s Road, Brookfield, Wisconsin on Friday, May 1, 2026. Visitation from 3:00 PM – 4:00 PM. Service at 4:00 PM.
