Our Savior Jesus Christ has destroyed death and brought life and immortality to light through the Gospel. Let us remember with thanksgiving what God has done through His servant Susan Louise Wendt. Susan was given life by her creator and was born on November 14, 1941, the child of Gerald A. and Alice C. (Moschea) Wendt.
On January 18, 1942, she received the gift of Holy Baptism and became a child of God. On April 3, 1955, she publicly confessed her faith and was confirmed. She received the precious gift of the Lord’s life-giving body and blood. God blessed Susan’s life with many special people as she served God in her vocations at home, church, work, and in the community.
She graduated from Milwaukee Lutheran High School in 1959 and later received a Bachelor of Arts from Mount Mary College in 2002. She worked at Children’s Hospital and the Medical College of Wisconsin for more than 40 years.
She was an active member at Covenant Lutheran Church and loved sharing her faith with others. She was so thankful for her pastor, Rev. Steven Voigt, who for decades, instructed and encouraged her in the Christian faith.
Susan is survived by many friends, including special friends whom she considered family: Kenneth and Rosemary Kosche; Jon and Anne (Kosche) Bakker; Tom and Ruth Kosche, their children Abbie, Hannah, Lydia and Izzy; Tom and Sara Olson; Matthew and Laura Olson.
Finally, on September 3, 2024, God blessed Susan with a holy death and took her home to rest in the arms of Jesus to await the resurrection of the dead. Her sins were buried with Christ in her baptism, and she is at peace with God. The Lord gives and the Lord takes away; blessed be the name of the Lord. We give thanks to God our Father through Jesus Christ, our Lord, for Susan.
