Steven A. Mlekoday, 63, of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, sadly left us on Thursday, December 21, 2023. Steve is survived by his wife, Laine Bartos, parents, Barbara Mlekoday and David Mlekoday, brothers, Michael Mlekoday and John (Loretta) Mlekoday, nieces, Amanda Mlekoday and Samantha Mlekoday. Further survived by other relatives, friends and his furry companion Bear.
Steve was born in Minneapolis, Minnesota and enjoyed growing up as the oldest child in a tight-knit family. Growing up Steve’s family moved to California, Illinois and finally Wisconsin where an adorable Black Labrador puppy brought Steve and Laine together. Steve and Laine spent 32 years together enjoying family, friends and three amazing Black Labradors. Steve’s career was devoted to manufacturing where he found great satisfaction working with his hands and helping people.
Steve enjoyed many hobbies including fishing with his dad, autograph and sports memorabilia collecting, watching the Packers and the Brewers and assembling and painting model cars.
Steve and Laine have been long-time members of Our Lady of Sorrows (Blessed Savior) in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. A social butterfly, he always enjoyed a good family party and participated in all sorts of sports autograph shows. Steve will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. The family would like to extend heartfelt thanks to the nurses and staff of Froedtert Hospital who provided compassionate care for Steve and our entire family during his final days.
Services will be held on Wednesday, January 3, 2024 at St. Bernard Catholic Church, 7474 Harwood Avenue, Wauwatosa, Wisconsin. Burial to follow at Wisconsin Memorial Park.
