Aunt Sarah was a busy lady. Her body is the only thing that slowed her down. She lived alone in her apartment till over age 100. The same apartment for over 40 years. I would walk down to the basement with her to help with her laundry because her knee started to give her trouble. That didn't stop her though. We would go shopping and go out to eat. She loved to browse at the store, just to see what was new. She even drove the motorized shopping carts. She had a friendly relationship with the people at the store. She loved to buy a little Basil plant once in awhile. She loved peanut butter cups, and chocolate, Big Macs, French fries, chicken nuggets, and hot fudge sundaes. Also, coffee, milk, orange juice and later Ensure. The Ensure kept her going as her teeth, or lack of, started to keep her from enjoying the food she loved because she started to have trouble chewing. Once I'm awhile she would say how she was the only one left, but overall she was positive and enjoyed life and people. Her dog, Happy, was such a blessing. He was loving and attentive, unlike the one before, as he got older. Happy was adopted from the Humane Society. She lived for her dog, she would say. The last time we got to visit, as she sang an Italian song, she said she was ready to go anytime. She knew her dog would be cared for, not quite as good as she did, but good. She was always gave me more than I would give her when I visited. She especially was sweet with her compliments to me, calling me beautiful, and bragging to others that I was a nurse.

She was/is an awesome lady. I remember her birthday parties and every time I got to see her. She had such a zest for life and loved people. She made a huge impression on my heart. I will never forget her. God has a special place for her. I'm sure of that. Love and miss you Aunt Sara. Randy Gau

My condolences to the family of Serafina. I am a friend of her great niece, Andrea Papia, great great niece Lillyianna. I heard many, many great things about Serafina and finally got to meet her back in August of 2022 at the celebration of life for her nephew, Joseph Papia. I see from the many videos taken by Joe that he and Serafina had a special bond. After Joe's untimely death I wanted to get together with Andrea and Serafina to help Andrea and her sister Angel and their children get a better understanding of their ancestry and who would have been a better person to do that than Miss Serafina. I understand she was as sharp as a nail to the end. Unfortunately that meeting never got to take place. I also missed the opportunity to meet her precious companion Happy. Happy IS in every video I saw that Joe had taken. God Bless Serafina and Joe. They are missed in person but are now in a most beautiful place. I can guarantee we will all see them again. Serafina with Happy and Joe with his HAPPY face!
