(Nee Mittag) Our dear mother, grandmother, great-grandmother passed away with family at her side, December 10, 2010, at age 84. She was born in Gillette, WI, but lived most of her life in Milwaukee. Sally created a loving home for her husband Rudy and her daughters Sharon Petersen, Lyn Repaty and Judy Teich. She was a loving and thoughtful mother-in-law to Dave Petersen, Ken Roddy and Jim Teich. The light of her life came from her “California” grandchildren Eric Petersen and Scott (Lindy) Petersen, and especially her two great-grandchildren David and Taylor Petersen. She never tired of showing their pictures or sharing their stories. She taught by example to value kindness, humor, respect and a strong work ethic. She was a proud retired employee of Globe Union Inc. Sally loved family get-togethers, bowling, knitting, puzzles, playing cards and lunching with her girl friends. She also loved visiting her surviving sisters Caroline Curtis and Mavis (Roy) Lemke, brother Melvin (Diane) Ratz, and her large extended family of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Her loving husband of 58 years, her parents, five brothers, four sisters and many dear in-laws, nieces, nephews and friends preceded her in death. Sally leaves a legacy of unconditional love that will be passed down for generations. Her bright smile is remembered by all and her joyful spirit and positive attitude are an inspiration. Her family and friends dearly miss her. A gathering and celebration of her life will be held at the Krause Funeral Home on Saturday, April 2, 2011, 2:00-4:00 PM, followed by a memorial service at 4:00 PM. In lieu of flowers memorials to the American Heart Association and the Alzheimer’s Association would be appreciated. A loving story, a warm comforting hug, or an intentional act of kindness would honor her life. The family thanks Dr. Barbara Bates for her compassionate care and support.
