Scott Edward Gibson of Wauwatosa, Wisconsin, entered life eternal on Thursday, June 4, 2026, at the age of 69, after a sudden onset of cancer.
Scott was born to Edward and Patricia Gibson of Wauwatosa on September 22, 1956. He graduated from Wauwatosa West High School and then attended university for two years.
He took a year off to follow his passion to ski the mountains of Utah and Colorado. Returning to school, he earned a degree from the University of Wisconsin – Milwaukee.
Scott was an independent thinker who loved life. He held a number of sales and marketing positions for Milwaukee area companies for many years.
However, lifelong friends were his greatest treasure, among whom he was known as the Gibber. Years of fond memories bound them together, which would be shared with laughter over a round of golf or drinks.
He loved life in and around Wisconsin from the waters of Lake Michigan to the trails of the Kettle Moraine and the many ski slopes and golf courses. Scott enjoyed outdoor activities such as golf, tennis, bicycling, snow & water skiing, kiteboarding, and windsurfing.
In his later years his passion for all these activities led him to buy and sell sporting goods online. He loved to tell his stories of the great deals he made on a bike, set of skis or clubs. Keeping his equipment well-tuned was another favorite pastime.
Scott was preceded in death by his mother Pat Gibson. He is survived by his father, Ed Gibson, sister, Lou Ann (Joe) Pratt, brother, Todd (Marjorie) Gibson, and his nieces and nephews: Ben, Sara (Michael) Purvis, Lisa, Maggie, and Stephen.
Scott’s snarky humor and friendship will be missed.
