Missing you every day, Roland. My mom just passed 6/23/17, and without your prodding and assistance when her Alzheimer's was diagnosed, I'd be lost now. Thank you for your help and friendship for the past 40+ years. You are lovingly remembered for your kind heart, your love of animals, and your selfless friendship.

I am shocked and saddened to learn that Roland M Pohl has passed away. Roland and I met in the first grade at Lawnsdale School in Waukesha, Wisconsin. We were friends all throughout high school and most of our lives. It was Roland who inspired me to move out to Los Angeles in 1977. He had moved out a few months earlier and was living with a girlfriend (Charlotte) in Thousand Oaks. They offered me a place to stay when I first arrived in California. If it were not for Roland, I may never had left Wisconsin and found my wonderful life out west. Our friendship was off and on over the following years, but Roland was an incredible friend when I lost my mother in 2002, and my father in 2014. He also was tremendously supportive when I lost several of my beloved animals over the years. Unfortunately, we had a falling out about a year or so ago, and we hadn't talked since. I am so sad to learn that he and his beloved dog, Monte had passed away sometime in September and were not discovered until October 6. How tragic an end for someone who had many trials and difficult obstacles to overcome throughout his life. Roland was a champion of animal rights, and was very involved in the miniature pincher rescue in Milwaukee. Apparently, he had just adopted another min-pin who did survive, and who is being cared for my people at the rescue. When something like this happens, one realizes how precious and short life is, and how important it is to treasure those people who make and have made, our lives richer. Roland, dear friend, rest in peace with your beloved animals, your mom and your dear Rosie. As one of your fb friends suggested, I truly believe that you will now be the official greeter at the rainbow bridge. Godspeed, Roland.
