Died peacefully surrounded by the love of his family on June 22nd, 2023. Born on October 7th, 1938, he was 84, married 63 years to wife, Jo Ann (nee Scharrer). Beloved father of Jeffrey (Leisha) Smith, Marie (Michael) O’Brien, Charlene (Stephen) Franz, Diane Smith Bueche and Ronald P. (Jennifer) Smith. Proud grandpa of Andrew Smith, Thomas Bueche, Nathan Franz, Emily Bueche Everett, Rein Smith, Ethan Franz, Jacob Smith, Brianna Bueche and Callie Smith Gudmundson. Great grandpa of Adrian Smith.

Preceded in death by his mother, Charlotte Smith Garvey, father, Nicholas Horvath and grandson Alex Smith.

Visitation at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church, 120 Nashotah Rd, Nashotah, Friday June 30, 10-12PM. Mass of Christian Burial 12PM. Private entombment Holy Cross.

In lieu of flowers, memorials appreciated to Messmer Catholic Schools, School Sisters of Notre Dame Retirement Fund or Cancer Research.
