Richard “Dick” L. Reinhart

Richard “Dick” L. Reinhart, age 89, passed away peacefully surrounded by love and family, Friday, September 4th, 2026.

Beloved husband of the late, Nancy Reinhart, whose love he shared for 58 years. Loving father to Renee Reinhart, Rick (Carrie) Reinhart, and Jonathan Reinhart; proud Papa to his grandchildren: Elise, Kailynn, Emma, and Jack. He is also survived by his caring family, brother Gary (Lori), sisters Karen Reinhart and Kathy (Mark) Mayer and sister-in-law Patricia (Van) Brown, brother-in-law Tom Varebrook and many nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his son Jonathan, brothers Bud and Ken and sister in-laws Shelby Reinhart and Betty (Bernie) Bakko. Dick was born and raised in Milwaukee, and built a life filled with love, family and friendships. He left behind a lifetime of cherished memories, meaningful work, and deep family connections. He was a loving caring husband and father who was always there for his family, to quietly support, guide or help in time of need. He was truly dedicated to his career and took great pride in working in and growing the family business his father started, Real Refrigeration and eventually working together with his sons.

Dick and Nancy brought their family up in a faith-filled home. Central to this was their longtime membership at St. Dominic’s Parish in Brookfield, where they not only grew their faith but many treasured friendships over the years.

Dick’s love of sports continued throughout his life. From playing and viewing any sport with a ball, to coaching his kids’ teams and later proudly watching his grandchildren from the stands. Dick and Nancy found joy in life by spending time with family and friends especially at their up-north haven. The many memories and laughs they created not only brought them great joy but now give comfort to all that shared in them.

But one of the roles he cherished most was being a Papa. He took genuine interest in his grandchildren’s lives, loved being a part of what they were doing and was incredibly proud of each of them. His four grandchildren held a very special place in his heart and there was never a question how much Papa loved them.

Dick was a true patriarch of his family, he was a devoted husband, father, papa, brother, cousin and uncle. We find comfort in the countless cherished memories we shared. His love and quiet strength will live on in all of us. Rest peacefully, Dad, Papa, Brother and friend.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, September 19, 2026, at St. Dominic’s Parish, 18255 West Capitol Drive, Brookfield, from 10AM to 12PM. Mass of Christian Burial at 12PM. Memorials may be made in Dick’s name to Capuchin Community Services – St. Ben’s Milwaukee.
