Richard “Rick” Friedrich passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 30, 2026 at the age of 80.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Edgar and Leona Friedrich. He is survived by his loving wife of 23 years, Debbie, his beloved children, Paul (Baret) Friedrich, Adam (Krista) Friedrich, Alex (Faith) Bertrand, and Katie (Kenny) Friedrich, and his grandchildren Florence and Finn. He is further survived by his sister Nancy Kaesy, his brother-in-law Curt Kroening, his sister-in-law Nancy (Orville) Colby, his nieces, nephews, and a host of other friends and loved ones that will miss him dearly.

Rick was a proud veteran, with service in the Vietnam war. He held the title of Captain by the time he left the Army. After his military service, Rick became a teacher and spent 33 years teaching and working in administration at Walker Middle School in the Milwaukee Public School District.

Visitation on Friday, May 22, 2026 from 4:00 PM – 7:00 PM at Krause Funeral Home, 9000 West Capitol Drive, Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

Additional visitation from 9:00 AM – 10:00 AM, followed by a service with military honors at 10:00 AM, on Saturday, May 23, 2026 at St. Matthew’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, 1615 North Wauwatosa Avenue, Wauwatosa, Wisconsin.

In lieu of flowers, family asks that memorial donations be made to the Fischer House, a home away from home for families of Veterans receiving care at the Milwaukee VA Medical Center.
