Richard E. Duchow of Oconomowoc, Wisconsin passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, January 15, 2017 at the age of 80. He was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin on March 3, 1936 to George and Myra Duchow. Richard is survived by his sons, Craig (Cindi) of Pewaukee, Tim (Nicole) of Oconomowoc and Jim (Andrea) of Coeur d’Alene, Idaho and daughter-in-law Margie of Delafield. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Sarah, Katie Hucke (Tim), Elizabeth, Mark, Matthew, William, Max, Abby, Maggie, Josie, Annalee, Wyatt, Matthew, and Olivia. He is preceded in death by his beloved wife Jill of 48 years and eldest son, Mark.

Richard was a graduate of the School of Engineering at UW-Madison and served as a Captain in the U.S. Army where he was Honorably Discharged in 1968. For many years, Richard was President and Owner of Duchow’s Marine a prominent boating business in the Milwaukee area. At its peak, Duchow’s Marine had five locations in Wisconsin and Michigan and was one of the largest boat dealers in the United States. In retirement, his passion was fishing and supporting his talented grandchildren in sports and educational pursuits. He also kept busy developing a successful retail business on the internet, selling marine parts and supplies the world over.
Richard will be remembered for his kind hearted nature and optimistic attitude toward life, and will be missed dearly by all those who were lucky enough to know him.
