McCarthy, Philip, J passed into God’s arms on the morning of 16 June, 2025 at the age of 93 years old.
Philip is survived by his son James and wife Kim, and their children Alex, Molly, Nathan, Mackenzie, Benjamin. Son-in-law Brian McAndrews and his children, Michael, Cali and Cory.
Philip is proceeded in death by parents John and Margaret (Costello) McCarthy; siblings Patricia Robers, Lucille Degraves, Charles McCarthy, Francis McCarthy. Wife Colleen (Riley), son Patrick, and daughter Margaret McAndrews and granddaughter Kelly Rampetsrieter
Philip was born on August 10th, 1931, in Dover, in Racine County. WI. After graduating high school, he went onto the University of Wisconsin-LaCrosse for a brief period before entering the Air Force during the Korean War and serving in England. In 1954 he returned home and worked multiple farming and construction jobs before following his brother Frank into the asphalt paving business. Along with assistance of his wife Colleen, he would start Mac Inc paving company in 1973 in West Bend which is still in operation and is now run by son-in-law Brian McAndrews.
Philip was a very active member of St. Catherines parish since 1963 serving in multiple roles and committees, to include but not limited to; Server, Eucharistic Minister, Lecture, Holy Name Society, Finance committee, Human Concerns, Pastoral Council, and providing Communal services at Bradley Homes. He also served as a youth basketball coach for St. Catherines for over 10 years
He served with the Knights of Columbus Council 6646 for many decades, eventually serving as Grand Knight, not once, but twice.
A funeral is scheduled for Monday 30 June at St. Catherines, 8661 North 76th Place, Milwaukee WI 53223. Visitation to be from 10am to 11am. Catholic mass beginning at 11am, followed by a procession to Wisconsin Memorial Park for Entombment service followed by a brunch at Wisconsin Memorial Park. Flowers and memorials are appreciated at the church. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Catholic Mass, burial and brunch as Philip returns his soul to his Lord Jesus Christ.
