Peter Meanyen Plybeah was born on February 15, 1954, to the union of Plybeahtay Plybeah and Larto Plybeah (née Yantee) in Sanniquellie, Nimba County, Liberia.
Peter graduated from Yeke Memorial High School in Yekepa, Liberia, and went on to pursue post-secondary education in Minnesota and Wisconsin. He worked for the Liberian American Swedish Mining Company (LAMCO) in the Press Department for many years. In 1978, LAMCO sent him to the United States for specialized training in printing and graphic design. Four years later, in 1982, at the age of 28, Peter officially immigrated to the U.S., where he began building a life rooted in ambition, purpose, and perseverance.
In 1985, he founded PACO Printing—named after his family: Peter, Annie, Chris, and “Oldman” (Mieway). It was the first of many printing companies he would go on to build. He was the kind of man who was always in motion—headed to a meeting, focused on his next goal. He carried the spirit of a builder, a doer, and a man always on assignment.
Peter departed this life on March 23, 2025. He was preceded in death by his parents, Plybeahtay and Larto Plybeah, and his son, Mieway Plybeah.
He leaves to cherish his memory:
His children: Mieway “Oldman” Plybeah (deceased), Erica Plybeah Hemphill (Travis), Ellington Mollie (Lucy), Alsia Plybeah, Larto Plybeah, Nala Collins, and a bonus son, Christopher Steele.
His grandchildren: Matthias Hemphill, Lucinda Mollie, Ellington Mollie Jr., Nenwon S. Konah, Nenlead S. Konah, Octavius Obey, Joncy Obey, and Zlanpoe Plybeah.
His siblings: Martha Plybeah and Mary Malue. And a host of loving family and friends.
“The Lord had said to Abram, “Go from your country, your people and your father’s household to the land I will show you. I will make you into a great nation, and I will bless you; I will make your name great, and you will be a blessing.” – Genesis 12:1–2
