Nancy “Nan” (née Smith) Wesela – Found peace June 6th, 2026 at the age of 86, joining her beloved husband Ed who she dearly missed.
Loving mom of Edward III (Patti) Wesela, Alex (Jennifer) Wesela, Christopher Wesela, proud grandma of Alexis, (Edward IV) “Michael”, Nicholas, Libby and “GiGi” to Molly. Sister of Sandra (John Caravella). Further survived by her former daughter-in-law Kathy Yanko, other relatives and friends as well as her faithful companion Abbey. Preceded in death by her husband Ed, adored grandson Christopher “Kisser” Wesela, parents George and Ann Smith, and sister Arlene Starke.
Born April 29, 1940 to George and Ann Smith and grew up in Milwaukee, WI. She worked at Harley Davidson and most of her career at Kmart where she developed lifelong friendships. She always told us her favorite place to visit with dad was Daytona Beach in Florida. She also enjoyed the annual summer trip to “the lodge” (her niece Denise’s place) with dad and the grandkids. She spent several years wintering in Florida with Alex and Jennifer sitting on the lanai watching the birds and the alligators as well as visiting the beach. She spent the summer/fall with Ed and Patti often visiting “Kaubashine Cabin” doing what she loved, sitting on the porch watching the birds with Abbey and fishing.
She also loved to go to the tavern ‘up north’ with family and friends for pizza and pull tabs. One of our (many) favorite stories is from the cabin when mom & Abbey were walking the driveway and a bear came alongside her and Ed calmly ordered her to get in the truck and THEN told her why….she never saw it until after she was in the truck. She loved her lunch dates and shopping with Chris and Kisser when she was back in Wisconsin.
Private family services to be held.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations appreciated to the American Cancer Society.
