Nancy Helen Hanna (nee Haberman)
Born to Eternal Life at age 93 and joined her beloved son Bruce on Saturday, November 9, 2024. Loving wife of 71 years of Donald C. Hanna. Dear mother of the late Bruce (Cyndi), Dr. Dennis (Janice), and Scott (Debra). Proud grandmother of Dr. Abigail, Natalie (Michael) Schwobe, Christopher (Sandy), Andrew, Daniel (fiancée Dr. Megan) and Dr. Alex (Barbara). Loving great grandmother of JC, Anja, Julie, Kai, and Charlie.
Nancy, born June 7, 1931 and her siblings Marilynn, Carmen, twin brother James, Charles, Thomas, Clyde, were the children of Milwaukee Public Servant Clyde M. Haberman and his wife Helen Sommers Haberman and were born at the height of the Great Depression. Nancy graduated from St. Leo Catholic grade school and North division High School and was employed at the County Courthouse until, by chance, she met the love of her life, Don while dancing at the Eagles Club. She wrote rigorously to him while he was engaged on the front lines during the Korean Conflict. When he returned, they married in 1953, and as Don worked 2nd shift at Allis-Chalmers, Nancy helped raised three rambunctious sons in West Allis. Nancy was all about family. She put 100% into cheerleading their hobbies, musical adventures, and educations, constantly supporting them until such time as she could turn her attention to her six grandchildren whom she absolutely adored. Together, mom and dad frequently enjoyed traveling the country, usually with a grandchild or two in tow. Mom had a wonderful and unique sense of humor, even tolerating her family’s incessant teasing about her sometimes curious culinary exercises. Mom, grandma, you will be deeply missed, you have forever touched our lives and hearts.
The family would like to thank granddaughter Natalie for her constant and loving watch over and tender care of Grandma.
Visitation at Holy Apostles Catholic Parish, 16000 West National Avenue, New Berlin, Wisconsin on Wednesday, November 20, 2024 at 1:00 PM, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 2:00 PM.
