September 3, 1944 – June 11, 2026

Milo Collins III, age 81, passed away peacefully on June 11, 2026. Born on September 3, 1944, Milo lived a life filled with dedication, compassion and service to his family, his students, athletes and his community.

Milo proudly served his country in the United States Air Force before dedicating 33 years of his life to teaching in the Saginaw Public School System. Teaching was more than a career for Milo – it was a calling. His passion for helping young people extended far beyond the classroom as he spent many years coaching and mentoring athletes through Saginaw Public Schools, Carrollton Schools, and Saginaw Township Community Schools – Heritage High School.

He was a part of two State Championship titles in his coaching career. The first occurred in 1992 with Carrollton High School Class C Girls. The second was with Saginaw Heritage High School Class A Girls in 2002. The 2002 team boasted a 23-5 season record. He was so proud to have been a part of these teams. Through his encouragement, guidance and everyday acts of kindness, Milo made a lasting impact on countless lives.

Milo was a former member of the Saginaw YMCA and the Basketball Coaches Association of Michigan. He was known for his caring heart, generosity and willingness to help others. Milo believed in making a difference and never hesitated to lend a hand, offer encouragement or support those around him. He will be remembered as a kind, compassionate and selfless man who always put others first.

Milo’s faith was a very important part of his life. As a child, he was baptized in the Catholic Church and was proud of serving as an altar boy. After moving to Wisconsin, Milo and Betty were baptized by immersion at Spring Creek Church in Pewaukee. He was a generous supporter of his church and many organizations that helped others. Even when attending church became difficult, Milo remained devoted to his faith and continued watching church services from home every Sunday.

Above all, Milo was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and friend. His greatest joy came from the people in his life and the relationships he built over the years. He had a gift for making others feel valued and cared for. His kindness left a lasting impression on everyone who had the privilege of knowing him.

Milo is survived by his loving wife, Betty; his sons, Brad (Jena), Sean and Ryan (Tomoko); and his stepchildren, Suzette (Terry), Shane, and Shelly (Brian). He was a proud grandfather to Ana, Bekah, Jacob, Karlina, Alyssa, Chase, Paige and Aidan. Included among his loved ones are his former wife, Lynn, the mother of his three sons, and his second wife, Colleen.

He was preceded in death by his father Milo V. Collins II, Mother Doris (Hoey), brother Dennis and sister Karen.

Milo‘s legacy will live on through the many lives he touched as a husband, father, grandfather, teacher, coach, mentor and friend. He will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Visitation will be held on Monday, June 22, 2026 at Krause Funeral Home, 21600 West Capitol Drive, in Brookfield, Wisconsin, from 10:00 AM – 11:45 AM. Service to follow at 12:00 PM.

To the family of Coach Collins .. my deepest condolences to you, coach was a great man. I was proud to be one of his players at Arthur Hill High School. He worked us hard, yelled at us hard, he also had a soft side too. He would joke with us on and off the court. I had the privilege to babysit his boys. They were a handful but I enjoyed them, coach put trust in us (Beth and squirt) lol. To do the right things. Coach u are already missed alot. Look over us coach. Love always, squirt.
