Kevin Clougherty left a message on October 13, 2024:
Mike had an impish and creative spirit. When I first met him in the middle 60s, he was already creating accurate pen and ink renderings of cartoon characters and drag race cars. As he matured, so did his art. I still marvel at the woodcut prints and other art he made in college. And I still treasure the whimsical nocturnal oil painting he made for us of a moonrise over a northern Michigan lake with us in our kayaks. Mike was also a great support for his family and a great friend. I remember him dropping everything and driving me across the country in an old Volkswagen to support his brother when he was being discharged from the service, even though it was a financial burden. He will be sorely missed.
