Mary Lou Hansen (née Sarosiek) – Passed away peacefully at the age of 83 on May 11, 2026.
Mary Lou was predeceased by her husband of 57 years, Peter Hansen, parents Tony & Loretta Sarosiek, loving daughter Sarah Baker, brother-in-law Tom Edgett, and sister-in-law Peggy Lynch. Survived by her children Peter (Suzy), John, Jimmy (Val), Chris (Julie), and son-in-law Greg Baker. “Grandma Roo” to Skylar Hansen, Alex and Ben Baker, Adaleigh and Thor Hansen, Abby and Carter Hansen and “Nana Lou” to Austin and Hailee Hansen. Mary Lou will also be missed by her brothers Peter Sarasek, Jim (Diane) Sarosiek, and sister Sue (Dave) Roth, many nieces and nephews, her sister-in-law Sally Edgett, and Fr. Bob Artmann, who shared his faith and love with the family.
Mary Lou graduated from Whitefish Bay Dominican (‘60) and received a nursing degree from Alverno College (’64). She met the love of her life Peter (Doc) Hansen and the two of them traveled around with the US Navy in multiple cities before settling in her forever home. She spent many years shuttling her five children around to school events and made many friends. She cared for everyone she loved and put them above herself. The family sends a special thank you to Regina Bublitz for her 30+ years of friendship and support to Mary Lou.
Visitation will be held at Krause Funeral Home, 21600 West Capitol Drive, Brookfield, Wisconsin on Wednesday, June 24, 2026, 11:00 AM – 12:00 PM. Funeral Service at 12:00 PM. Private burial to follow at Wisconsin Memorial Park.
