Mary Lou Bean

Our mother Mary shared several similar qualities of her favorite lemon yogurt treat – sweet and tart, zesty and bright. Mary Lou Street was born March 7,1946 to Rudolph, a WWII pilot, and his wife Mary Lou (nee Grosinske) Street. Mary was raised in Wauwatosa with her adored younger brother Douglas (Nancy) Street of Sioux Falls, SD, and graduated from Wauwatosa West High School.

After tagging along on a blind date to Gilles Custard stand, she met Robert “Bob” Soerens (d.2024) and fell in love. They were married from 1967-1977 and welcomed three adorable children: Kristy (Jack) Harder arrived in 1968, followed by Jennifer (Michael) Vojvodich and Robert (Stephanie) Soerens, who joined his siblings in 1975. She loved them deeply.

Mary excelled in primary school (skipping a grade), was a talented artist and an avid bike rider. Fond of The Beatles and Billy Joel, among many others, she loved to laugh and crack jokes and doted on her two Boston Terriers, Mugsy and Maggie May.

Mary relocated to Las Vegas, Nevada, in the early in 1990’s where she met her husband Ronald Bean (originally from Los Angeles, CA). They were lovingly married for 25 years until his death in 2024. Although Mom took her final breath on Thursday, June 25th in Las Vegas at the age of 80, her spirit, laugh and memory will endure through the lives of her family for generations.

She is further survived by seven grandchildren, Maria (Josh) Kundert, Juliana (Reagan) LeGrand, Lili and Kyra Vojvodich, Maddy, Annika and Hudson Soerens. One great grandchild, Violet Kundert, niece Rebecca (Grant) Starkey, nephew Rudy (Paige) Street and numerous Grosinske cousins from Whitewater.

Our mom will return home to be buried in a private ceremony at Wisconsin Memorial Park.
