It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Mary Ann Bichler, at the age of 75. Born on January 23, 1949, Mary Ann’s life, though marked by challenges, was also filled with love and acceptance of those who cared for her. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
Throughout her life, Mary Ann lived with bipolar schizoaffective disorder, a condition that affected her thoughts, emotions, speech, and daily experiences. While it brought many struggles, it never diminished her ability to love others. She had a unique ability to embrace those who were genuine in their love and dared to try to understand her and engage with her.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Georgia, her father, Cletus and her brother-in-law Donald Kies. Mary Ann is survived by her sisters Linda Kies, Betty/Becky (Randy) Soerens, Doris Mueller and Di (Scott) Roeker and her brothers Bob and Bill (Nancy). Her extended family included many beloved nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews, both living and deceased. Her family will cherish her memory and continue to carry forward the values of love and acceptance that defined her. The family wishes to acknowledge Peggy Nordness for her years of unwavering dedication, compassion, and friendship, particularly in her role as a devoted caregiver.
Those who knew Mary Ann remember her for her ability to communicate her gratitude through her smile. Through her expressions, she reflected back to caregivers, social service workers, and family the importance of thoughtfulness, patience, and being present to the needs of others.
In honor of Mary Ann’s life, the family asks that you consider spending a day expressing the same love and acceptance she lived by toward someone with a mental health issue. By offering this gift to others, we can keep her spirit alive and continue the legacy of unadulterated love she left behind.
You will be deeply missed but forever remembered.
Private services will be held.
