After a courageous battle with ALS and by the Grace of God, Mark Conrad went home to be with Our Lord on November 15, 2023.
Born in Chicago on October 30th, 1950, he was a Wrigley Field boy who lived down the street from Riverview Amusement Park. His family spent their summers at their cottage on the Nippersink Resort in Genoa City, Wisconsin. For many years, Mark was on the Nippersink staff working as a lifeguard and Adult Activities Director. He attended St. Viators grade school, Loyola University high school and St. Thomas Military Academy his junior and senior years of high school. He then attended St. Procopius (Illinois Benedictine College) from 1968-1972. After college, he enlisted in the Navy where he served his active duty in San Diego and Naval Recruiting in Chicago.
Mark met the love of his life Kathy asking her for change in the game room at the Spirit of ‘76 Disco in Downers Grove. They married in April of 1977. Mark worked for First Federal of Chicago assuming the roles of loan officer, regional customer service manager, project specialist, and division lending manager. In 1984, he was recruited by MGIC (Milwaukee) eventually becoming a Senior Account Executive. The Camelot Forest subdivision became their home in Brookfield, WI.
Mark served as president of the Wisconsin Mortgage Bankers Association. He was a member of the Waukesha Real Estate Board, the Professional Sales and Marketing Association, and was senior account executive for Wisconsin Title Service Company, Inc. The Broadlands Golf Community in North Prairie became their home in 2005. Mark enjoyed swimming laps daily in his pool. He was an avid golfer participating in numerous golf outings supporting the MACC Fund, his customers, and friends. He achieved his lifelong goal of a hole-in-one while playing on the Broadlands Couples League. He will be waiting for all of us on the 19th hole.
Mark is survived by his wife Kathy, children Brent (Jessica) Conrad, Scott (Courtney) Conrad, Samantha (Jimmy) Meilick, grandchildren Hope and Sadie Conrad, his siblings Lynn Hollett, Carol Rafferty, and Robert Banci, along with numerous nieces, nephews and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Virginia Conrad, and brother, Charles Conrad.

A visitation will be held on Thursday, November 30, 2023 from 4:00 PM – 7:00 PM at Krause Funeral Home, 21600 West Capitol Drive, Brookfield, Wisconsin. Additional visitation will be at St. Paul Catholic Parish, S83W31602 Wern Way, Waukesha, Wisconsin on Friday, December 1, 2023 at 10:00 AM with memorial Mass to follow at 11:00 AM.
