I just now came across the obituary. I’m very saddened. I grew up knowing Mark and his entire family from Nippersink. Mark was one of my idols as a kid. He was always nice, warm, friendly and modest. And he can hit a softball as far as the eye can see! A truly great man. Most sincerely, Mickey Berman

Condolences to Mark's family for your loss of one of the great guys! I was one of his grammar school graduates, still living in the same neighborhood by St. Viator's. I always remember Mark every time I drive past his childhood, (stately looking) house on Addison! Glad we were able to meet up at our 45th reunion. Will miss his and Bill McGill's back-and-forth bantering through our alumni emails. He always spoke so highly and lovingly of his family. You were really blessed with one of the good guys. Cherish the memories!

Prays are with you all. I worked with your dad at MGIC. A quality man with great values, we shared several wins and laughs along the way.

Hi Kathy, Brent, Scott, & Samantha, Sending my love and sincere sympathy in your loss. My cousin passed six years ago from ALS & it was difficult to live through all the pain of losing a loved one to the disease. May you find peace in the wonderful family memories you created through the years! God Bless you all. Mrs. Sue Howard

Kathy, I am so sorry to hear about your husband. I'm sure your love and fabulous sense of humor helped carry him through the challenges of ALS and made his days richer than they would have otherwise been. One of my best friends battled ALS for seven years so I'm aware of some of the struggles. The only thing that makes it bearable is love . . . and I'm sure Mark had that in abundance. My heart is with you. Sherry

My sincere sympathy to Mark's family and friends. I am a St. Viator Grade School classmate in Chicago . All my memories are of Mark being one of the 'nice boys' in our class and it sounds like that was the foundation for him becoming a 'nice man'. May he rest in peace knowing his grade school classmates never forgot him.

Mark was always so kind to me. He was one of my favorite members of the Broadlands. Jesus takes the good too soon. Your family is in my thoughts and prayers. Pat Klotz
