Marilou Anne (Wasem) Krzewinski, beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away at the age of 91 on Thursday, May 28, 2026, in Hartland, Wisconsin.
She was born on March 22, 1935, in California, grew up in Belleville, Illinois, and was the only daughter of Walter and Dorothy Wasem.
She was a devoted mother to her two children, Jeff and Jill, who she raised in Wisconsin with her first husband, Roger Futrell. Later in life, Marilou made her home in the Milwaukee area, where she found lasting happiness with her second husband, Larry Krzewinski. Marilou found joy in reading, playing cards, warm summer days, and traveling. She was unmatched in her passion for all Wisconsin sports teams and enjoyed nothing more than cheering on the Packers, Brewers, and Badgers with her family and friends. Time with her loved ones meant everything to her, and she had a special way of filling those moments with laughter, vitality, and light.
Marilou was preceded in death by Larry Krzewinski, her loving husband of 23 years. She lives on through her two children, Jeff (Carolyn) Futrell and Jill (Kim) Thurs; her stepsons Joe Krzewinski and Jim (Sandra) Krzewinski, her six grandchildren, Jenny (Ryan) Beckman, Katie Futrell, Kevin (Kelci) Futrell, Mike (Jessica) Thurs, Sarah (Jacob) Bartsch, and Jack Krzewinski; and six great-grandchildren. She had a generous heart and was always the first to lend a hand to anyone in need. Her strength, generosity, and vibrant spirit will be deeply missed and always remembered by everyone who knew her.
Marilou’s family would like to especially thank all the caregivers and nurses at Heritage Lake Country, as well as the therapists from Aegis, for their dedication, compassion, and love over the past few years.
Please make any memorial donations to St. Jude Children’s Research Center or the Special Olympics as a tribute to Marilou’s generosity.
