Rose Yates (Sonny's youngest) left a message on November 17, 2023:
I am so sorry for Uncle John and Chris's family. Aunt Mary was the sweetest person. Like my older sister commented, it was always a treat to visit Grandma Kleist and find Mary was there. Her room was like "girl" land to us and we couldn't wait to see her latest fashions and yes, get her hand me downs. Then she started dating the coolest guy, John. Their model relationship only bumped them up a notch in my book. I loved scavenging for antiques with them in the Harrisville dump sites. My wish is that all the good memories will help the family get through this time of sorrow and know they will always have her in their hearts.

Aunt Mary was my most favorite person in the whole world when I was growing up. My many (almost daily) visits to grandmas house with my dad was the greatest part of my day. Mary was my “big sister”. The many shenanigans we got into. It was so much fun to get her hand me downs until I got bigger than her. That was hard to accept. She was greatly loved by me and I will miss her.

Mary was such a sweet person. She used to babysit for my kids even though she wasn’t much older than they were. I kept in touch with her until she couldn’t recognize me anymore. Heaven got a new angel today
