Lucille M. Palecek, age 100, passed away peacefully on July 18, 2025, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
Born June 7, 1925, in Rozellville, Wisconsin she was the eldest daughter of the late Nicholas and Veronica (Bornbach) Benz. Lucille is preceded in death by her husband, Jerome M. Palecek and eldest son Philip J. Palecek, brothers, Frank, Lester and Robert Benz and sisters Ruth Hencik, Phyllis Hildebrandt and Judith Tritz.
While Lucille worked for JC Penney after raising her six children, she found her greatest joys as a wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. In her retirement along with her husband Jerome, Lucille enjoyed taking bus tours visiting several countries as well as the national parks and deserts within the United States.
Lucille is survived by her daughter Deborah (the late Douglas) Kostrzewa and sons Jeffrey (Lynda) Palecek, Gregory (Kay) Palecek of Wadsworth IL, Joseph (Roberta) Palecek of Wauwatosa, WI and Steven (Martha) Palecek of Baraboo, WI. Lucille was the loving grandmother to Lori Carmona, Michael Kostrzewa, Anne (Craig) Schneider of Mount Pleasant, SC, Erich (Kelli) Palecek of Madison WI, Megan (Adam) Daubenspeck and Kelly (Liam) King of Chicago, IL, Brady, Tyler, Ashley, and Sarah Palecek. Lucille was the cherished great grandmother to Maria, Alicia, Olivia Carmona, Kaitlyn, Braeden and Lauren Schneider, Evelyn and Nelson Palecek and Luke Daubenspeck.
The family wishes to extend their deep appreciation to the caring staff at St. Anne’s Salvatorian Campus where Lucille has resided for the past four years, especially Charlotta, Chetkia, Dominique, Moesha, Paige, Schanell, and Shoua. They were truly her guardian angels. Finally, the family wishes to thank the nurses, aides and chaplain Russ from VITAS Hospice for providing to Lucy your compassionate care.
