Lorene Rowe Truitt-Godwin

Lorene Rowe Truitt-Godwin was born on April 30, 1936, the 13th child of Wiley and Alice Rowe of LaGrange, Georgia.  She received her formal education in the LaGrange, GA public school system. She accepted Christ at the age of twelve at the First Baptist Church in LaGrange, GA.

Lorene met her first husband, Willie G. Truitt Sr, and married him in December 1954. After which they moved to Milwaukee, WI. They had one son, Willie G. Truitt Jr.

Lorene married her second husband Henry L. Godwin on March 19, 1987. Lorene joined New Hope Missionary Baptist Church and served there as a missionary and bible class servant. She contributed wherever she was needed.

Lorene departed this life on Sunday, November 17, 2024. She is preceded in death by her parents, six sisters, three brothers, and step-son Abediha.

Lorene leaves to cherish her memory: her husband Henry L. Godwin & her son Willie (Anita) of Milwaukee, her stepdaughters Tuwana Nicole of Orlando, FL and Tiffeny Thomas (John) of Tullahoma, TN, her grandchildren Jason (Courtney), Kashun, Kennedy, Lashia, and Ramsey, her great-grandson Ronin, a host of nieces and nephews, and family and friends.

Memorial Service will be held November 30, 2024, 11am
