Brookfield – Lois Bartling (71) passed away Saturday, December 18, 2021 at her home with her family at her side.
Lois was born on March 4, 1950 in Dubuque, Iowa to Homer and Della Mae Voigts and grew up in Platteville, Wisconsin. She was united in marriage to Larry Bartling on August 29, 1970. She graduated from Platteville High School and Madison Area Technical College as a Licensed Practical Nurse.
Lois was enthusiastic about life. She enjoyed quilting, cooking, playing cards, reading, traveling and spending time with her family and special group of friends. For many years, Lois enjoyed her winters at their home in The Villages, Florida. During their 51 years of marriage, Lois and Larry relocated to numerous locations throughout the country. She always would say, “As long as we were together, I can make a home anywhere.” Her large group of friends from around the country are a reflection of her kindness and warm personality.
Lois is survived by her husband, Larry and three children Erin (Jim) Jeffrey, and their children James, Maddie and Tyler; Phil (Erin) Bartling, and their children Jacob and Danny; and Tim Bartling; three siblings JoAnn (Jim) Myers, Jack (Marcy) Voigts, and Dee (Joe) Robbins; sisters-in-law Becki Voigts and Linda Sherpe; and brother-in-law Lon (Kathy) Bartling. Also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Fritz Voigts, sister-in-law Lori Bartling, brother-in-law Howard Sherpe and twin granddaughters Isabella and Aurora Bartling.
Lois’ family would like to give a special thank you to her doctors, nurses and support team at the Froedtert Cancer Center in Wauwatosa, Wisconsin.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, December 29, 2021 at Krause Funeral Home at 21600 West Capitol Drive, Brookfield, Wisconsin. Visitation will be 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM, followed by a brief Krause Chapel Service, and a light luncheon in the lower level.
