BROOKFIELD – Lee, age 88, passed away suddenly on September 29, 2026.
He was born In Milwaukee to Clarence and Dorothy Neustedter. He attended Holy Angels Grade School, Messmer High School and UW-Milwaukee studying Economics and Real Estate.
Lee met Joan when she took a summer class at UWM between her years at Marquette. Joan was studying at the union before class and Joan reports that Lee would stare at her continuously. Finally, one day, Joan walked by and said to him, “Studying hard?” and the rest is history. Lee likes to share that Joan made the first move.
His first job out college was at Square D where he worked as a Sales Correspondent. While working at Square D, he decided to get his real estate license and worked as a realtor part time for Wauwatosa Realty. It was his love of real estate that led him to quit Square D and pursue real estate full time. He built a successful career in real estate and was the proud owner of Realty Unlimited and then Century 21 Properties LTD, which he co-owned with Joan. Throughout his career, he was known for his dedication to his work and the relationships he built with those around him. He also thrived as a property owner/landlord to many tenants over the years.
Above all, Lee treasured his family. He was the beloved husband of Joan for 63 years and a devoted father to Dan (Lori), Jon (Ann), Paul (Julie), and Lisa (Darren). He was preceded in death by his oldest son, Dan, in 2011. He will be missed by his sister, Joanne (Bill) Lange and his brother, Phil (Sally) Neustedter. He was a loving grandfather to Aaron, Jared, Leah, Lauren, Julia, Ethan, Kino and Kobi. His grandchildren brought him great joy, and he cherished the time spent with them especially at the cottage up north.
Lee leaves behind a legacy through the family he loved and the many people whose lives he touched. His honesty, faithfulness and generosity will always be remembered.
A celebration of life will be held at St. Joseph’s Parish, 12130 West Center Street, Wauwatosa, Wisconsin on Saturday, October 10, 2026. Visitation from 9:00 AM – 10:45 AM, Mass at 11:00 AM.
