Leann Anderson was a committed friend, a passionate adventurer, an always over-the-top aunt, and a loving wife. Her steadfast faith in the Lord was quiet and deep; it defined how she loved and lived in this world. Leann was made to do hard things…to climb mountains and hike valleys, to push the limits and never give up. She was courageous and fought hard, but ultimately lost an extended battle with Leukemia and passed away on Thursday January 25, 2024, with her husband by her side.
Leann held a long career as a pharmacist where she impacted and touched many lives along the way. She enjoyed being active outdoors and loved to explore nature with anyone who dared to go along. From hiking the Grand Canyon to climbing Mt Kilimanjaro, exploring National Parks, skiing in Switzerland, or gardening in her backyard Leann only knew how to live life fully and created countless memories with, and for, her family and friends. She enjoyed traveling with her husband and working side by side with him through the years. They visited some of the most remote places around the world, always on a path that she carved and meticulously planned to maximize the experience.
She was devoted to her family, an aunt whose unconditional love for her nieces and nephews will long be her legacy. She instilled a thirst for adventure and an appreciation for nature in them with countless trips through the years that inevitably came with a grueling hike, a long uphill bike ride, even a white water rapid or two…and always a great story to tell. She was an unapologetic enabler of chocolate milk with whip cream, never passed up a stop at an ice cream stand, and chocolate chips were a staple item on her kitchen counter – as long as any indulgence was balanced with the obligatory blister or scraped knee that was the signature of an Aunt Leann visit. When asked to send her niece some mail, she wrote three letters a week for years. When asked to go for a hike, she’d plan an incredible trip halfway across the country, or the world! Her generosity, passion and commitment had no limits, especially when it came to the kids she loved like her own.
Leann leaves behind her husband of 29 years, Daniel Anderson. She will be remembered and loved forever by those who knew her best; brother Ken (Lisa) Hayse, sister-in-law Andrea Hayse, nieces and nephews whom she loved intensely; Kaitlyn Gatimu, Braden (Alex) Hayse, McKayla (Tony Toulaboe) Hayse, Tucker and Dakota Hayse, along with other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her father Roy Hayse, mother Verna Mae Hayse, and brother Mark Hayse.
Those who loved Leann most will be lost without her but cling to the promise of salvation and take her with us in our hearts, wherever we go. May she live fully at the eternal foot of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ until we see her again.
