Larry Ellis, born May 30, 1950, in Batesville, Mississippi, passed away on April 2, 2026, at the age of 75, surrounded by family in Milwaukee.
Larry proudly served his country in the United States Army. He was stationed in California, including Monterey, where he served as a Military Police officer. He later served in Vietnam as an MP and was awarded the Bronze Star and the Army Commendation Medal for his bravery in saving lives. He also returned to active reserves for six years, serving in a tank unit at Fort McCoy in northern Wisconsin.
Larry then worked for 13 years with Alain Chambers and was known for his dedication and strong work ethic. He leaves behind a legacy of love, strength, and devotion to his family.
He was preceded in death by his soulmate, Linda Aikens; his parents, Howard and Lillian Ellis; his nine siblings, Ruby Lester, Victor Ellis, Jimmy D. Ellis, H.C. Ellis, Uly C. Ellis, Tracy Ellis, Sidney Ellis, Daisy Ellis, G.B. Ellis and his daughter, Latisha Aikens.
He is survived by his children, Terrell (Tyeshia) Aikens, Avery (Iris) Aikens, and Tanika Aikens; his grandchildren, Cairra Grice, Erin Henderson, Matthew Henderson Jr., Daisha Aikens; and his brother, Howard Ellis.
Visitation will be held at Krause Funeral Home, 7001 Brown Deer Road, Milwaukee, Wisconsin on Friday, April 17, 2026 at 10:00 AM, followed by a funeral service at 12:00 PM. Burial will take place at Wisconsin Memorial Park in Brookfield, Wisconsin.
