Passed away, Wednesday, February 22, 2017. Age. 76. Loving wife of George for 53 years. Beloved mother of Tonit (David C. Swanson) Calaway and the late Antoine. Grandmother of Kyra and Calaway Swanson. Sister of Maxine Johnson and Betty Johnson. Also loved by other family and friends.

Visitation is at Krause Funeral Home, 9000 West Capitol Drive, Milwaukee Wisconsin, Friday, March 3, 2017, from 4:00 PM -7:00 PM. Visitation continues Saturday morning at Krause Funeral Home, March 4, 2017,  from 9:00 AM-10:00 AM. Funeral Service at 10:00 AM. Entombment Graceland Cemetery.

LaBelle was a teacher and principal with MPS for over 40 years.

It is with deep sorrow that I write to commemorate my love for Mrs. Calaway. She was a strong, loving and effective leader who encouraged and supported so many people to pursue their highest dreams and goals. She was a pioneer in bringing innovative, creative and noteworthy changes to the lives of other educators, students and families. My successes were heralded by her unwavering support and encouragement. She served and represented the best of Milwaukee Public Schools.. She will be so deeply missed. Sincere Condolences to the Calaway Family.
