Kurt was a graduate of Wauwatosa East High School, and the University of Wisconsin-Madison, Physical Therapy Program. He worked in numerous facilities in the (Covenant/Wheaton Franciscan) Ascension Healthcare system across the Milwaukee area, as both a bedside therapist and in management, for nearly 40 years. He loved his work and was always willing to help any who asked with therapy advice.
Kurt was an avid gardener, especially of flowers. He enjoyed cooking and baking, challenging himself with new recipes. Most of all he loved to share these gifts with family and friends, hosting regular gatherings. Kurt also loved cars, classic and otherwise, and regularly expressed his love and care by washing and waxing cars for family members.
He had plans to retire in the next few months and was looking forward to trying more elaborate baking, expanding his garden, taking E-bike rides with Chris, and traveling. He especially loved Door County in the fall.
He was a faithful member of his church and served as a member of his worship team for over 30 years. He loved to sing and shared his beautiful voice in praise.
Kurt was generous and giving and always put the needs and wants of others above his own. He regularly donated blood which he knew was a life saving resource to innumerable people in need, including himself as he needed many units of blood and blood products in the end. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating blood if you can, and/or honoring Kurt’s life with a donation to the Milwaukee Rescue Mission, which is an organization he supported for decades.
