Kevin John Allen, born August 22, 1962 to Gordon and Shirley Allen, passed away April 25, surrounded by family.
Among many things, Kevin will be remembered as a grooving musician, beloved educator, basement aviator, sharer of stories and kindness, caring friend, loving brother, uncle, father and husband. He was preceded in death by his parents Gordon and Shirley Allen and his sister Robin Allen Martins. He is survived by the people in this world who often inspired his stories and kindness, and who he could not be more proud of, including his wife of 32 years Diane (Fink), son Connor (Marisa Perry) and daughter Taylor (Derrick Jennings), his twin sister Kim, sister Gayle, brother Peter, and the best extended family and friends you could hope for.
An easygoing, go-with-the-flow guy who could make anyone feel good. Kevin loved spending time with family and friends traveling, camping, boating, and genuinely appreciating life. He was beyond proud of his children and took especially great pride in the incredible humans they have become. As a long-tenured educator and musician Kevin shared his passion for music with thousands of others, from his time teaching orchestra in the Elmbrook School District to his years playing for Bucks fans (member of Milwaukee Bucks house band, Streetlife) and Packers fans (playing in the house band for the Favre Show).
His fun-loving easy-going nature enabled him to build meaningful relationships with people throughout his life. He traveled the world as a musician and spread his joy of people and music. Kevin was the kind of person who was there to listen, laugh, share a story, and add a dose of realness and levity to even the most challenging days. His legacy is his kindness and joy, and while he will be missed tremendously his legacy lives on in so many others for years to come.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Kevin’s name can be made to the Kevin Allen Memorial Scholarship Fund to benefit graduating Elmbrook musicians.
Funeral arrangements are being handled by Krause Funeral Home, 21600 West Capitol Drive, Brookfield. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 30, from 1:00 PM – 4:00 PM with Service to follow at 4:15 PM.
