Kesha Engel, LMT, R.Sc.P. made her transition to Source, to the Infinite Light and Love on Tuesday, June 3, 2025 surrounded by friends and family, imbued with the peace that surpasses all understanding.
This fiercely free spirit lived passionately, open-heartedly and intentionally, laughed and loved fully, exuded fun, humor and joyfulness, gave abundantly and spontaneously, created magic and breathed dreams into reality. She cultivated a rich inner life and direct relationship with God, was committed to service, the Truth and Oneness and was a mentor and teacher for many in the art of a life well lived.
Kesha was a life-long student and teacher of spirituality, studying the works of Dr. Joe Dispenza, Michael Mirdad, A Course in Miracles, Eastern & Native Indian teachers and Abraham Hicks, among others. She was deeply influenced by her early teacher, the scholar, ethnobotanist, herbalist, medicine woman, teacher, and author, Grandmother Keewaydinoquay. With a background in Peace Studies & counseling and certifications in breathwork and women’s soul-centered business coaching, Kesha served as a spiritual life coach, breathwork trainer, Science of Mind practitioner, licensed massage therapist and energy healer, clinical hypnotherapist, and chaplain through Unity of Sedona, deeply impacting the lives of all she touched with her healing and presence.
As an abundance creator who understood universal laws, Kesha showed others—both by example and teaching—how to manifest dreams intentionally and deliberately by putting out into the greater consciousness exactly what one desires returned to them. She understood the nature of cause and effect, that we create our lives by choosing, and she embodied the wisdom of such concepts as, “Every moment of every day, I live my life abundantly,” “Ask and you shall receive,” “Give and the Universe gives back,” “Align your intentions with cosmic law.”
She taught all who came into contact with her that miracles abound, and one need only be open to receiving for them to manifest. She practiced gratitude, was a believer in the power of prayer and extolled the value of forgiveness—of self and others—working diligently on forgiveness during her lifetime. She often stated that every word or action boils down to “either Love, or a call for Love” and that, as such, everything is either a pointer back to God and Truth, or is to be forgiven. She gently invited others to shake off shame and victimhood as well as to consider a shift in perspective in any given situation by asking them such questions as, “Would you rather be right, or be happy?”, often delivered with her lilting fairy laugh.
A lover of mother earth, Kesha was in her element when hiking in nature, especially in her beloved Sedona, or swimming, where her mermaid nature was most free and at home. She enjoyed a good dance party and the freedom of rocking out ecstatically, especially together with friends.
She was a trusted confidante to many because she offered a confidential, no-judgment safe haven of acceptance. Being in integrity was of utmost importance to her and she had a strict “no gossip” policy that kept conversations and relationships clean. She felt a deep kinship with those of marginalized communities and made sure to be overt in her allyship.
Kesha gave of her love, time and talents generously and was profoundly loved and respected in return. A bright, shining light herself, she saw the best and highest Self in all, often proclaiming to another, “You are light of the world!”. She was dedicated to both her own expansion, awakening and evolution and to that of others, in service to humanity, for the benefit of all. “When you commit to your path of self-transformation,” she wrote, “you have no idea how your life might inspire others. Legions of support come rushing to your aide; you are not alone.”
In her teen years Kesha experienced a Near Death Experience (NDE) during which she came into direct contact with the Divine. Reluctant to return to physical form but agreeing to do so, she spent the rest of her life communing with God and the cosmos until she could once again return. In her final weeks she told loved ones, “I’m not sick; I’m one step closer to God.”
She passed as she had lived: with grace, dignity, consciousness and prayerfulness, on her own terms, breathing her way to the Divine, drenched in love and complete with her life path. In fact, her date and time of death translate to 999. As many know, Kesha was attuned to divine numbers. Nine is the number of completion and new beginnings.
Kesha is survived by her beloved husband, Joe Gorman. Joe and Kesha formed a partnership in 1997 and married in 2002. They shared a deep love for spirituality, nurtured their relationship from the soul’s perspective and served as teachers in breathwork, A Course in Miracles and relationship coaching. They traveled widely together, having many memorable adventures, including living for a time on a boat as well as traveling in an RV. They shared their time between homes in Sedona and Wisconsin, and in both locations were immersed in the spiritual community. Kesha and Joe had the ability to pull community to them wherever they went and were the gravitational force around which many orbited.
Kesha is also survived by her mother, Joanne Kennedy Engel, stepfather Ken Valdes, brother Ron Engel (Terry), nephew Alex Engel and niece Ashlynn Engel, as well as many, many loving friends. She is preceded in death by her father, Jim Engel (July 2, 1989). The family expresses deep gratitude to the dear friends of Kesha and Joe who cared for Kesha tirelessly in her final weeks, including: Vi Hammelman, Carol Roeker, Maggie Kuhn, Cheryl Mealey, Jeanette Yoder, Vicky Padway and Pat Culotti.
Among her many talents, Kesha was also an author and prolific poet. Like everything she put her mind and opened her heart to, she dedicated herself to her craft and to constant learning and improvement, writing most days and honing her talent through workshops and retreats. Her writing was often spiritual in nature and infused with the themes by which she chose to live, as seen in her poem “More to Life” below.
“More to Life”
by Kesha Engel (February 8, 2022)
There’s more to life than we could ever see and within the heart lies a memory.
The seed of creation, of safety and peace
dwells inside the human race.
It’s in me, in you, in all who we meet-
yet often we’re caught by the pull of the street.
But it’s love that delivers and it’s never too late-
to change your course and
choose a new fate.
We’re not so different, when we choose to heal and decide to focus on what is real.
With gifts to deliver and share with each other, we bless this life with our earth mother.
At times we may slip, it feels hard to discover, those lessons our soul wants to uncover.
But when asking for help and remembering the light-
we may find new pathways that ease our plight.
The journey awakens to mystery dear friend, and makes the heart ever wider to include all in the end.
From the beginning we return with desire, to experience contrast and ignite inner fire.
Breathe life to your dreams and never forsake, your beloved by Creation- forgive any mistake.
Days become decades in the revolution of time, so jump into action and
remember to shine.
It’s vital to laugh at the extremes you’ve made up-
in truth, we all drink from the same flowing cup.
