Riedl, Kathrine (née Denk) of Pewaukee, passed away peacefully on May 20th, 2026 at the age of 81.

Kathy was born October 4th, 1944 in Milwaukee to parents Herman and Hertha Denk (Nee Abitz). She married James Riedl (the Barber) on May 6th, 1967, recently celebrating 59 years of marriage. They have three daughters, Therese Schneider (Kevin), Suzanne Dembiec (Steve) and Patricia Tomich (Ryan). She has one brother Robert Denk (Connie) and nephew Bryan Denk. Nana to 11 Grandchildren, Ella, Sean (Stephanie), Sam (Demi), Simon (Emily), Ryan Jr., Autumn, Hannah, Lindsey, JoyAnna, Daniel & Grace. And 7 Great-Grandchildren, Charlie, Greyson, Ashlynn, Piper, Asher, Haven & Tobias. Kathy will also be missed by many cherished friends.

Kathy attended Washington High School followed by the University of Wisconsin – Milwaukee. At the age of 20, she met the love of her life Jim. She worked at the telephone company and then Sentry Foods as a cashier and office employee for 30+ years.

Most of her time was devoted to family and friends. Kathy loved people and had close relationships with them. She enjoyed playing bridge, card games, ceramic classes, dancing and traveling. Kathy also hosted many parties and most every family holiday.

“You will always be deeply loved and remembered.”

A funeral mass will be celebrated at 12:00 PM on Saturday, June 6th, 2026 at Queen of Apostles Church, N35W23401 Capitol Drive, Pewaukee, Wisconsin. Visitation will be held at the church from 9:30 AM to 11:45 AM. A luncheon will follow at 1:30 PM at Krause Funeral Home, 21600 W Capitol Drive, Brookfield, Wisconsin. Her final rest will be in the St. Mary’s Cemetery, Menomonee Falls.

Jim- My deepest sympathy goes out to you and your family. I have fond memories of both you and Kathy helping me out with dancing during our dancing with the Go West Country dancers. At that point of time your help really changed my life. Kathy would do a good job of helping me out with some challenging dances. Also with you being my barber for almost 50 years made you a good friend of mine. May she rest in peace Jim. We’ll all be back on the dance floor together again!

Karen & I have many fond memories of Kathy since 1995. I worked with Jim in the barber shop. Kathy treated us like family. We have never seen so much love, kindness, and patience in her love of family as a wife, mother, and grandmother in our lifetime. We witnessed Kathy and Jim demonstrate tremendous country music dancing skills. We will miss her immensely. We pray that Jim is given the peace that passes all human understanding.
