Julia A. Moore was born on May 25, 1940 in Inkster, Michigan to the late James Anderson and Agnes Hudson. After graduating from Inkster High School, she moved to Milwaukee, Wisconsin and attended nursing school at Mt. Sinai Hospital. It was here that she met James Moore whom she married in April of 1961. From this union six children were born Clay, Marc, Kim/Michele, Cindy, James Jr., and Adriane.
She received her Associate Degree in Applied Science in Nursing from MATC in 1969. In her career as a Registered Nurse (R.N.) she devoted her life to the care of others, particularly the elderly as she worked in nursing homes in the early portion of her career. She also held positions as a visiting nurse, nursing care coordinator and as a CNA instructor.
Julia’s love for God was evident. She was baptized in her earlier years and a member at Brown Deer Baptist Church, where she was a member of the choir, singing soprano.
Julia had a flair for language and a fondness of singing. Occasionally she would serenade her children with the latest R&B songs with her own version of the lyrics. She also enjoyed writing poetry, cooking, gardening, dancing (bopping), spending time relaxing at the lakefront. Next to her love for God, her children and grandchildren were truly her top priority.
Even in her declining years she showed compassion, kindness and genuine concern for others first.
Julia is preceded in death by her parents, James Anderson and Agnes Hudson, her step-parents John Hudson and Geraldean Anderson, her brother James M. Anderson and James T. Moore (div).
She is survived by her children Clay (Lana) Moore, Marc (Wendy) Moore, Kim/Michele (Chester) Moore, Cindy (Geoffery dec.) Moore, James Jr. ( Kelly) Moore and Adriane Wilder (Lindsay III), 11 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by a host of relatives, and friends.
