Growing up, Mrs. Miller,Joyce, was like a second mom to me. My best friend was Linda, her daughter, and they lived across the street from me. I had the best times at their house. Mrs. Miller always treated me as one of the family. She never talked to me like I was just a kid. She made me feel important and always cared. I needed that. RIP. I still love you. I have never forgotten you and I never will. Please give Troy a kiss for me.

Linda and Bruce, my heartfelt sympathy goes out to you and your entire family. Your mom would send me cards updating me on her life. She always talked about how thankful she was that the two of you helped her so often. Know that she passed being thankful for all you did. My thoughts and prayers are with you all.

May all your bobbins be full, your seams be accurate, and your points be perfect! Thanks for being a great quilting friend.

I met Joyce as a student at UWM. We were both working on a teaching degree and went through student teaching together. At the time, she was a pioneer – a woman with a family and several jobs setting a new direction for her life. I admired her determination, stamina and dedication to becoming a teacher. I remember her generous offer to drive me to Louisville Kentucky which gave me a start in my career in education. Lots of good memories! My sympathies to her family.
