Jose Ignacio Ortega Aravena (Pepe) found eternal peace on Thursday, October 30th, 2025. He was reunited in Heaven with his father Bernardo O’Higgins Ortega Rivera. Pepe is survived by his mother, Clementina del Carmen Aravena Pacheco. Dedicated husband of Jessica Hegg. Loving father of Lucas Ortega and Sofia Ortega. Pepe was my wife´s brother. We spent good times with him in Chile and the US. He was a great man, kind, with a great sense of humor, always positive and thinking ahead, thinking about his family and kids. He never stopped thinking about his country and its people. He will be greatly missed by his wife, his son and daughter, and all his family. I hope that after the pain Jessica, Lucas and Sophia can rest in the thought that they lived a great time with their father, were able to learn from him, from his country and from his life lessons, which, together with their family in Chile and the US, will always accompany them.
