Joanne Marie Pappalardo (nee David) was a caring and loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, Nani, daughter-in-law, sister-in-law, aunt, and friend. She was born into eternal life August 16, 2023, at the age of 92, surrounded by loved ones and welcomed by her late husband Joseph Pappalardo at the gates of Heaven.
Joanne was born to the late Henry and Lucille David on January 4, 1931, in Milwaukee, WI. She is survived by her brothers Thomas David (Marlene), Henry David (late Bill), and her late brothers James David (late Barbra), Gerald David (late Justine), John David (Carol), and late sister Sharon Ann Grippe (Paul).
She is survived by her children, Karen Jo Orlando (Michael), Thomas Pappalardo (late Josephine), Salvatore Pappalardo (Donna), Annette Orlando (Robert), and late daughters Theresa Pappalardo, Rossana Pappalardo, and Christina Pappalardo. Loving Nani of Angela Jones (Greg), Peter Orlando (Renee), Joseph Citro (Dena), Tina Housey (Kirk), Joseph Pappalardo (Jaclyn), Christina Pappalardo, Michael Pappalardo (Kaylee), Thomas Pappalardo (Rebecca), Angela Perez, Isabella Pappalardo, Joseph Pappalardo, Lawrence Pappalardo, Anthony Pappalardo, and Amanda Jo Petri (Eric). She was also blessed with 21 great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild, all of whom she adored dearly.
Joanne met the love of her life, the late Joseph Pappalardo, on April 15, 1949, while roller skating. They quickly fell in love and were married just over a year later on June 24, 1950. Shortly after, they began welcoming their many children. Her joy was taking care of her family and friends and spending time up north.
Joanne was strong in her faith, had a witty sense of humor, and had a smile for everyone even until her last days.
Visitation is scheduled from 4:00 PM – 7:00 PM on Monday, August 21, 2023, at Krause Funeral Home in New Berlin, Wisconsin. There will also be an additional visitation on Tuesday, August 22, 2023, at 10:00 AM at St. Margaret Mary Parish in Milwaukee followed by Mass at 11:00 AM.
