Joan had 4 grandchildren: Jesse Samano, Felicia Samano (Jason) Shepard, Kim (Sean) Emery, & Raven (Jeremy) Brown. 13 Great grandchildren: Marilyn, Maximus, Silas, Carter, Jovi, Frank, Cecelia, Elliot, Wren, Parker, Titus, Hawk, and soon to be another. She is also survived by her loving kitties, Cupcake & Muffin.
Joan was a past President of both Milwaukee Association of Legal Secretaries & Executive Women International Milwaukee Chapter. She retired from Mutual Savings Bank as Assistant Vice President, but retirement didn’t stop her from serving & leading. Joan volunteered her time on her Parish Council, & in various ministries including preparing & delivering bag lunches for school children who didn’t have any food. It was a pleasure for her to coordinate social events, luncheons & outings with friends and neighbors. For a number of tax seasons, she volunteered with AARP to assist with tax preparation. Joan has also knitted hundreds & hundreds of scarves for the homeless and our Veterans. She had a huge heart for helping the less fortunate.
Joan loved to travel, by plane or ship, and enjoyed her yearly trips to Las Vegas. She was a very caring woman who loved people & being involved with community service.
Joan has many friends & other family that will miss her, especially a special “daughter in law”, Cheryl Acheson, and a niece, Denise, who enjoyed many years of Joan & Lee’s card games, parties, outings & adventures. She was a friend to many, a mother & grandmother to everyone’s children. She left a lasting impression & will be missed by all who knew her.
Gathering will be held at Mount Olivet Cemetery Chapel of the Angels, 3801 West Morgan Avenue, Milwaukee, Wisconsin 53221 on Tuesday, September 6, 2022, 10:00 AM – 11:00 AM. Celebration of Life at 11:00 AM.
