Joan M. Held

Joan Maud Held (nee Shrader) was born into Eternal Life on Wednesday, January 15, 2024 at age 94.

She was a cherished and dedicated wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend to many. Loving wife to O. William for 70 years. Mother of three children, William (Sue), Thomas (Susan) and Carolyn. Special grandmother to Jacob, Amanda, Peter, Aurora and Kitri. Great grandmother to Alden, Cassidy, Boden and Ezra and Daniel. Proud mother to Annie the Cockapoo.

Born in Wauwatosa, Wisconsin, Joan attended Wauwatosa High School and graduated from University of Madison with a psychology degree. She had a career as a domestic homemaker, worked as an executive secretary at Pabst Brewery and as a wardrobe specialist at a clothing store. Mother of two Eagle Scouts. Member of the Wauwatosa Women’s Club, she volunteered for community events. She was passionate about home design, collecting antiques, cooking and loved to spend time with friends and her dog Annie. She attended church where she volunteered with childcare.

Visitation at Krause Funeral Home, 21600 West Capitol Drive, Brookfield, Wisconsin, on Thursday, January 30, 2025, 10:00 AM – 11:45 AM. Service at 12:00 PM. Interment at Wisconsin Memorial Park in Brookfield.
